Ooh exciting times. Healthcare at Home are very good. Honestly it is so easy to use. Fear is the worst thing to overcome and I was as nervous as anyone. I felt rather foolish after I had injected as it was so easy.

More importantly you could be one step away from your RA being in control. How good would that be ThumpUp

Keep us posted.

Yayyyyy .
My Nurse (the 2nd one ) was very good and had bright red hair (bottled red) and very friendly , i think you have to understand that nurses who get into private need to be a cut above the rest :)
Bet you can't wait , hope my little dizziness doesn't put you off :)

Have a good Bank Hol :)

Good luck Jane - it won`t be half as bad as you think! When my nurse came, I recognised her straight away, as I used to teach her PE years ago - so that broke the ice a bit!

Glad you're getting sorted at last Jane. Smile

Hopefully it will work as well for you as it did Paula.

Just to say I have had a couple of hiccups with HCAH delivering my drugs ie. them saying that they have not had a prescription from my hospital and are requesting it again. So I have ended up missing supplies for a couple of weeks.

Now I just ring my nurse straight away when this happens and she gets in touch with pharmacy and sorts it out. Not sure where the fault lies but ringing her gets results.

Good luck next week, you'll be fine Smile

Marian is the nurse from healthcare at home arriving between 9-11.
She text me yesterday, I text her back asking what time I should take embrel out of the fridge. The replied 0900hrs.
My question to you all how long are the nurses there for?

So I have an idea what to expect and can have time with my hubby before he shoots off to work on evening shift.

How did it go Jane, did they arrive on time ? Ihope they didn't come minutes after you'd taken it out of the fridge as the colder it is the more it hurts (well that was how I found it)
Hope it was good

Yayyy Jane ,
Hope it goes well on Monday :)
My Nurse stayed for about 45 mins , as they have a checklist to sign off , and they have to tell you all the precautions , and show you how to inject etc .
Plus she stayed longer because i went dizzy ;) hehe.

But i spose all nurses work their own way :)

Good luck for Monday Jane, from what I remember the nurse stayed only about half an hour, but that was because I had to drive to Sussex and she was a couple of hours late arriving and I wanted to be done and off. She did wonder f it was a good idea driving 200 miles straight away but needs must at the time and I was fine. I think they will stay for however long you need them and they are very aware of all the signs to look out for, they really are well trained
Best wishes
Sheila

hi Jane

I really hope Enbrel works its magic for you. It took nearly 12 weeks before I saw any benefit but hopefully you will see some improvement very soon.

Has Enbrel been changed to an epi-pen now? My Enbrel comes in a pre-filled syringe. When I first started it in 2005 it came in a powder that you had to dissolve in saline, wait till all the mixture had dissolved then draw into a syringe and clear the bubbles, it was all very time consuming.

Best of luck Biologic Jane

Love Rebecca
